Mission:
To empower youth and their families with knowledge, skills and confidence to make educated financial decisions and build sustainable wealth through a series of online/offline workshops and a virtual investment competition.
“THRIVE is uniquely structured to make investing accessible and understandable for high school students,” according to THRIVE project team, “Drawing from our own experiences in the Wharton High School Investment Competition, we aim to remove the barriers and anxieties beginners often face. Our workshops provide foundational knowledge from industry experts and personalized mentorship from competition alumni to foster genuine financial literacy.”
THRIVE High School Investment Challenge 2025, an immersive virtual investing competition designed to equip students from grades 8 through 12 with practical financial knowledge and experience. Participants will manage a simulated investment portfolio valued at $100,000.
Objectives:
- Financial literacy: Equip participants with basic knowledge of personal finance, investment and risk management
- Economic empowerment: Help participants be more confident with their financial future through practical investment strategies from experts
- Academic exposure preparation: Prepare students who are interested in business and finance for future investment competitions; inspire interest in finance, economics and entrepreneurship
- Community Integration: Foster connections between immigrant families and local resources, wealth management experts and the broader community
Target Audience/Participants:
Middle school and high school students (G7-G12)
Team Size:
Individual or team of 2-4 people, team formation needs to be confirmed at registration. Team members can be from different schools, grades, or regions.
Prizes:
- Award categories: Top 3 Investment Performance Awards, Best Stock Analysis Report Award, Best Presentation Award
- Cash prizes - $300, $200, $100

- Winners will be qualified for access to youth financial literacy training program in the future
